New domain Calculator

It's been a while, hasn't it? Not a big change (yet), but I added a domain calculator made by LuckyLulu (on Discord) to let you calculate the number of of levies and peasants and samurai. This is a different take, somewhat, than the demographics I use in my page Demographics but there's some good ideas there for you to play with if you're interested in the prosperity game.

Other than that, I wish there was news to be reporting on, but there isn't, and things have been going slowly. Please enjoy Fortune and Strife and reading the Aconyte L5R Novels while we wait for more.

I like the demographics post. Pretty interesting to have some firm numbers to scale what an "Empire at War" scenario or what's at stake for each clan in negotiations.

One question I had is that I've been under the impression that the Crab clan had the largest army in the Empire by a wide margin, with the drawback that they have to spend over half of it manning a giant, fortified wall. Do you think it would be reasonable to flip the Lion and Crab total army sizes?

Or am I misremembering?

Either way, really enjoy your site! I used the intrigue example to help run a big Winter Court session in my last campaign, and it was a smash hit in no small part thanks to the advice here!

I think you're absolutely welcome to flip the army size if it suits you. Indeed, the army sizes, as given, may just be what the Crab can field in a war in Rokugan. That said, given attrition on the Wall, the actual size of the Crab army could vary a lot depending on how things stand in battle with them. And that is very difficult for any demographics to model.
